Sony Electronics ISSA Division located in San Diego, CA, is currently seeking a DW/BI Expert Business Analyst. This role will be responsible for analyzing reporting needs and delivering queries, data and reports that are required by the business. This role will be focused on enterprise reporting solutions and be part of SEL's Corporate Data Warehouse team, and requires someone who will be comfortable in both customer facing situations and within a technical environment.

This position will require expert skills with analyzing data, root cause analysis, problem solving, and verbal/written communication. Proven success with delivering reports and data to customers is critical. Experience with at least one of these reporting tools is required: Business Objects, Cognos, or SAP's Business Warehouse (BW).

This position will include a focus on sales and financial reporting solutions so a background with sales, orders, inventory, and financial reporting is needed.

This position will be responsible for writing clear and complete business requirements, resolving complex reporting or data issues, and performing root cause analysis on data and reports. This role must be able to provide good project estimates and see projects through to successful completion. This is a delivery focused role not a role focused on pure data analysis.

The person will handle and prioritize issues that are escalated for their attention. This role must be comfortable managing multiple priorities at once. This role is also responsible for optimizing the overall reporting environment by identifying opportunities to reduce/reuse reports; standardizing naming conventions; and providing data/training to power users so they understand what information is available to them.

The candidate must be capable of clearly communicating information in both a verbal and written format. This role will interact with all levels of the business and IT and must be comfortable crafting their communication style to fit their audience.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience is required
• Must have 5 to 7 years of related experience with reporting and data analysis (or equivalent level of experience)
• Background building reports using one or more of these tools: Business Objects, Cognos, Information Builders or Business Warehouse (BW)
• Must be able to demonstrate prior meaningful experience in delivering useful and valuable reports and information in DW/BI environment
• Must possess a working understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence
• Demonstrated ability to use SQL to query databases
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Should be very proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and Microsoft Project
• Interpersonal skills: a keen customer focus and highly relationship oriented, a champion for change, ability to persuade and influence others
• Problem solving and decision making
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally if required
